ANKERHAGEN OPEN COMPETITION
Competition // Group Project // 2019Â // Norway // Hamar
Ankerlunden is a small site just outside the center of Hamar city, with a focus upon quality in high density living and community. The proposal is smaller square living blocks, with the same proportions as the surrounding context. The volumes are placed perpendicular to the streets, to accommodate issues with noise pollution and give space inside for recreational use and functions. There is a transition inside the complex from a public center towards south, to a more private area towards north. This is underlined in the different atmospheres that was created for the site, to create a feeling of community, leisure, socialising, immersion and calmness. The site appears inviting with its connecting bike paths and directional gables, which act as gateways into the complex. Ankerlunden is designed at a smaller car free environment, where cars in the big perceptive moves outside, except the one road that leads into the covered parkering area. This ensures that life can unfold and move in between the houses for recreation, socialising and wellbeing.
